Welcome to my site! I felt using a blog to keep you updated on my adventures would be less obtrusive than a watsapp group, as it leaves you in control of the decision of following or not. So the story so far… had a wonderful flight courtesy of Turkish Airways and an even bigger surprise over the weekend as Jay drove down for the weekend 😊. I will add a blog about the car journey to the refuge at a later date as car travel in Kenya is worth recording in detail and is worthy of its own blog. BTW this is the first time I’ve written a blog so bare with me please if things don’t seem to work as expected.
I arrived at the shelter this afternoon where I received my induction and got an idea of the challenges the organisation faces on a day to day basis. Operating under permaculture (‘Organic’ to me) the knowledge of pests and disease is critical to the success of the thr refuges sustainability. Lucky for me and the shelter I have contacts in this particular field of knowledge (you know who you are, expect some questions coming your way).
The diet of vegetables and maize should have me back into my size 10 jeans in no time atall. Visits to the toilet (a hole in the ground) is one thing I will conciously try to do less of too. A win, win situation I feel 😊.
